Lisa Traxler CV/Biography
British artist, Lisa Traxler, has a multi-disciplinary practice exploring the boundaries of 2d to 3d, through space and form. Working across a range of media including painting and sculpture her award winning art addresses an ongoing fascination with history and our sense of place, from an architectural perspective. The natural development of her thought process is evident from her spacial configurations to the intricacy of colour. Her sculptural works are ‘space paintings’ suggesting their evolution off the wall into the places we inhabit.
Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Outer Space‘ the five windows of Kings Place and atrium, Pangolin London, 2023. ‘Time Traveller’ Southampton City Art Gallery, 2022. Arts Council England Awarded ‘Blast Wall’ Foundry Gallery, London, 2021 and the duo exhibition ’Dazzle+Disrupt’ Quay Arts, Isle of Wight, 2021, empowering new works with a fuller analysis of her unique slotted sculptures. Traxler is an elected member of The London Group (2022), Royal Society of Sculptors (2017) and Royal Watercolour Society (2015). Works are held in City Art Gallery Collection, Southampton, Fabriano Museum, Italy, RWS Diploma Collection, London.
Born: London. Studied: Croydon Art College, Birmingham Polytechnic , BA Hons Fashion and Textiles.
